There is a world of mystery and emotion that lives within us. In his work, Douglas Earls seeks to reveal this world. Whether it be in a portrait of a loved one, a fleeting song bird, a beloved animal companion or the beauty of nature Douglas seeks to elicit from viewers a unique experience of that world. Painting in a realist style he often includes colorful elements of the surreal to elevate each painting to a place that may be lost in a photograph. 

 

Born and residing in South Carolina, in the United States Douglas has created pieces over the years that have hung in homes and galleries all over the country, and even as far as Europe. His goal is that his work will speak to viewers and become a long time companion to them.
